Product Details

Original Item. One of a Kind. This is a great set of service-worn WWII WAC service boots named to Dorothy Jean Eslinger, who enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps on February 17th, 1944.

The boots are in great shape and are both Size 6½. They are well marked on the interior:

SIMPLEX SHOE MFG. CO.
6½ A250153
W155-0M-15839

The laces are in great shape and show no signs of breakage. The leather of the boots is still strong as well. The soles are very worn from… being worn! The soles are made by Essex.

Dorothy Jean Eslinger was born on February 4th, 1920 in Pennsylvania. She attended Post-Graduate school and enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps on February 17th, 1944 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. After the war, she married and lived in Enola, Pennsylvania until her death on December 11th, 1996, at the age of 76. This is a great pair of shoes which could use more research.

This set comes ready for further research and display.
